HIGH POINT, NC - Open Door Ministries (ODM) is an organization dedicated to providing comprehensive care for those experiencing homelessness in our community. Routine programs such as financial literacy, medical education, and more, bring far too often, unreachable resources to our residents and clients. As food insecurity grows in our community, the readily available, and plentiful meals of the ODM Father’s Table are a beacon of hope for many.
The Father’s Table soup kitchen, one of ODM’s seven programs, provides over 350 meals each day to our men, women, and children facing food insecurity and hunger. These meals are balanced, hot meals providing not only nourishment, but hope as well.
Â
ODM partners with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Second Harvest Food Bank to recover and distribute thousands of pounds of food monthly. However, due to the October 2025 government shutdown, ODM has not received its scheduled food disbursement, placing strain on meal operations and local food resources. Our promise is to always provide.
Â
Today, that promise is at risk. Due to the ongoing government shutdown, ODM has not received a vital resource that sustains our meal programs and ensures food security across the community.
Â
To keep our kitchen open and our neighbors fed, we are calling on our community—individuals, businesses, and friends—to stand with us. Every donation, large or small, helps us fill a plate and lift a spirit.
Â
Open Door Ministries is dedicated to providing meals to our community and relies on hundreds of volunteers and donors each week to ensure hot meals go to those in need. Those interested in donating may visit www.opendoorministrieshp.org/donate to learn more about the needs of ODM and how to assist our community.
