High Point, NC — Open Door Ministries is proud to recognize the generosity and dedication of Amanda and Ben Anderson with the naming of the Amanda and Ben Anderson Recreation Area. This space stands as a testament to Andersons’ commitment to serving our community and uplifting those most in need.
The Amanda and Ben Anderson Recreation Area provides a place of rest, renewal, and community for the residents of the Arthur Cassell Memorial Transitional Housing program, which serves homeless veterans. As part of this space, a raised garden—developed in partnership with the Greater High Point Food Alliance and Growing High Point—provides fresh produce to residents, supporting their health, wellness, and sense of stability. In addition, recreational items, rocking chairs, sporting equipment and more have been donated by the Andersons to add leisure, holistic care, and more of veterans transitioning out of homelessness.
“Amanda and Ben Anderson have long been champions of our mission to bring hope and opportunity to those facing homelessness,” said Ryan Ross, Executive Director of Open Door Ministries. “By naming this recreation area in their honor, we are recognizing not only their personal generosity but also their deep belief in creating a community where everyone has the chance to thrive.”
This new area reflects the collaborative spirit of High Point, where community partners and dedicated individuals come together to transform lives. Open Door Ministries extends heartfelt gratitude to Amanda and Ben Anderson for their unwavering support and their lasting impact on the lives of homeless veterans and many others we serve.
